Reason for Paris SG vs FC Brugge UEFA Champions League
|Paris SG -575|
Undefeated in their last 22 UEFA Champions League (UCL) group stage home outings (W17, D5), Thomas Tuchel’s Paris Saint-Germain side have started their 2019/20 campaign perfectly, winning their opening three UCL fixtures without even conceding a single goal. PSG have also now found the net in each of their last 27 UCL fixtures!
PSG are cruising towards first place in this group. They are a victory away from confirming their place in the last 16, and they could even wrap up first with two games to spare. However, the French side need to bounce back from a shock setback in Ligue 1.
The hosts were beaten 2-1 by Dijon on Friday night, which means they have a measly seven-point lead as we enter November. There’s little doubt about PSG’s domestic success this season, but they will want to finally make a difference in the Champions League. After years of near-misses, their great start suggests this could be the year.
Paris Saint-Germain could be without Neymar, Thilo Kehrer, Ander Herrera, Marco Verratti, Thomas Meunier and Thiago Silva on Wednesday. Edinson Cavani last started a game for PSG in August but Thomas Tuchel may give him a chance from the off here.
Marquinhos tends to play in central midfield in the Champions League but may be required at the back if Silva misses out. Angel Di Maria will miss out against former club Real Madrid if he is booked on Wednesday and it wouldn't be a surprise if he was rested here.
Key Player: Mauro Icardi and Kylian Mbappé have netted PSG’s last six UCL goals between them, scoring three apiece.

Club Brugge are targeting third in this top-heavy group. The Belgian side made headlines with their thrilling draw at Real Madrid, but they were thumped by PSG in the last round of games. That has left the Belgians in third – on course for the Europa League – although they are just two points shy of Real in second.
Club Brugge’s 5-0 home loss against PSG on matchday three made it five consecutive group stage matches without a win in the competition (D4, L1). Moreover, the fact that they’ve failed to score in three of those games will surely concern coach Philippe Clement.
On a more positive note, however, the visitors come into this game hoping to complete a run of 11 straight competitive road trips without a loss (currently W8, D2). Furthermore, the ‘Blauw-Zwart’ remain unbeaten in their 2019/20 Pro League campaign (W10, D3), with eight of those wins being accompanied by a clean sheet.
Key Player: Club Brugge striker Emmanuel Dennis has scored his team’s two goals in the competition, with both strikes coming during the first half of play.
|The Pick: Paris SG -575, Over 3.5|
