Reason for F.C. Internazionale vs Hellas Verona Serie A
|F.C. Internazionale -261|
Inter lost 3-2 at Borussia Dortmund in their midweek Champions League clash. That’s left Inter in danger of missing out on the next round, although they do still hold the head to head advantage over the Bundesliga side. However, the manner in which they threw away the lead was a big blow, only adding to the idea that Antonio Conte is a man for the domestic league and not Europe. Now his side are going up against a Verona side who are high-flying in the top half of Serie A, so Conte will be demanding a big turnaround here.
However the hosts have won three of their four Serie A (SA) games since their sole league loss of the season, netting at least twice in all four matches since (D1). They have also opened the scoring in four of their five SA home matches (W3, D1, L1). Stefano Sensi marked his return from injury as a substitute in Inter's 3-2 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in midweek. However, he misses out here through injury.
Fringe players like Alessandro Bastoni and Valentino Lazaro should also keep their spot in the starting XI from their last league outing. Kwadwo Asamoah, Roberto Gagliardini and Matteo Politano are all injured.
Key Player: Lautaro Martínez and Romelu Lukaku have scored ten of Inter’s last 11 league goals, with Lukaku netting his last four SA goals after half-time.

Verona may be thriving so far, but their season will ultimately come down to a survival bid. Regardless of how well they do, staying up is the main priority. The visitors won’t really be judged on their results against the likes of Inter, which is good because they lost at all of the top seven in 2017/18. Their away form isn’t much improved this time around, converting just 6% of their chances away from home.
The visitors’ games are usually tight, with only two of their 11 SA matches being decided by more than a single-goal margin. Additionally, Verona’s last six away league wins (including Serie B) have ended via a one-goal margin, with four finishing 1-0.
Koray Gunter, Marash Kumbulla and Miguel Veloso are in doubt for Saturday's clash due to injuries, therefore Alan Empereur, Pawel Dawidowicz and Matteo Pessina are likely to start against Inter.
Key Player: Matteo Pessina (VER) has scored two game-winning goals this SA season - both arrived in the 81st minute.
