Preview, Prediction and Picks

Porto's Estádio do Dragão hosts the 66th final of the most important club competition in Europe after its departure from Istanbul. With Manchester City aiming to become the 23rd different club to be crowned European champions in their Champions League (UCL) final and Chelsea looking to become the thirteenth champion multiple times, this third all-English final could be a typically tense affair.

Manchester City -110

Although their recent four-game form seems problematic (G2, L2), City won the Premier League title nearly three weeks ago, and 11 wins in 12 UCL games this season, six of which have seen City score before the minute 20, they are exceptional. continental and eliminated them from Real Madrid's 2001/02 record of 12 wins in a single campaign.

With Chelsea leading at HT in seven of their eight UCL victories this season, a good start in this first European H2H in 50 years seems imperative. Especially since Chelsea have failed to score against HT in five consecutive competitive matches (W2, L3) and five of the last seven H2Hs.

The only City player to reach a UCL final, ?lkay Gündo?an, helped them secure a handicap win in six of the seven UCL matches in which he found the net for City.

Chelsea +320

However, City have lost to Chelsea twice since mid-April, two results that contributed to a staggering 40-game drawless streak (W35, L5). One of these was a 1-0 FA Cup semi-final loss, but all three games since City conceded first, they bounced back to win - they won six of the last seven games in the UCL that saw them concede first. also.

Chelsea's previous two UCL finals were decided on penalties (G1, L1) and given their overall UEFA shoot-out record (G2, L4) compared to City (G2), the 2012 champions hope to avoid this one. destination here. However, the "Blues" have yet to concede more than 1.5 goals in a UCL game this quarter, so it should be difficult to break it, although that stat also holds for City's strong European defense.

Timo Werner may have scored the first goal in Chelsea's last UCL outing, but he still turned down more competitive club goals (15) this season than he did (12).
