Before the international break, Leipzig suffered their second defeat in three Bundesliga games when they fell 1-0 in Wolfsburg.

Die Roten Bullen has now extended his league losing streak en route to five games, including last season's results.

Three accumulated points after three games, including a 4-0 win over Stuttgart last month, mean this is the worst start to the season in RB Leipzig's top flight history.

Jesse Marsch's task of turning the tide will be a challenge in his next two games, first against Bayern Munich, before heading to England to face Manchester City in their first match of the Champions League group stage.

Away form in the Bundesliga has been a problem in recent months, although they have performed better at Red Bull Arena, losing just one of their last 10 major matches.

Leipzig haven't won each of their last seven meetings against Bayern, but a victory for Marsch's men on Saturday could be the stepping stone they need to get back in shape.

Bayern Munich

Despite a 1-1 draw with Borussia Mönchengladbach on matchday one of the new season, Bayern Munich have looked strong so far this season, scoring 24 goals in their first five appearances in all competitions.

Five of those goals hit the back of the net against Hertha Berlin in their final Bundesliga game, as they headed to a 5-0 win at the Allianz Arena, thanks to a hat-trick by Robert Lewandowski, as well as to the goals of Thomas Muller and Jamal Musiala.

Bayern come into this weekend's game in good shape, despite having had a minor traffic accident in the last few league games, unable to win each of their last three games. The last time they played four Bundesliga games without a win was in the 2011-12 season.

FCB, which have won the Bundesliga title in each of the last nine seasons, are eager to maintain their dominance at the top of German football, with victories over their closest rivals such as Leipzig to ensure they remain there. .

Bayern are confident of a positive result on Saturday, having recorded six wins and five draws in their 12 competitive matches against Leipzig, with their only loss on the road in March 2018.

As strong as Bayern advance, they have at times seemed vulnerable on defense, so Leipzig hopes to take advantage of those problems on Saturday. However, the firepower available to visitors should help them secure all three points at Red Bull Arena.
