Edmonton Oilers vs Calgary Flames NHL Odds, Preview, Prediction and Picks
Edmonton Oilers vs Calgary Flames Prediction, Betting Tips and Preview of the match for the NHL Hockey Game on Saturday February 6th, 2021.
A three-game winning streak, even if the last two were against the Ottawa Senators, the Edmonton Oilers are confident.
But a meeting of the Battle of Alberta Saturday in Calgary against the Flames has encouraged the Oilers.
Flames and Oilers meet for the first time in the all-division action format this season knowing full well the importance of each clash. After all, both teams are likely in the mix for a playoff spot, but they could just as easily come up short.
The last time the Flames and Oilers faced off, the game turned into an old-school rivalry clash, even the goalies taking off their gloves in the middle of an online brawl.
The Flames, who lost that last game just over a year ago, are returning home after losing two straight games to the Winnipeg Jets, including a 4-1 loss on the road in Winnipeg on Thursday.
In addition to those struggles, they have a little controversy on their hands over 2014 first-round draft pick Sam Bennett. Bennett, whose agent reportedly requested a trade, was a surprisingly healthy scratch in the last game, but will likely return to the lineup with fourth-row center Derek Ryan offside after taking a hit to the hand when he blocked a shot.
Bennett declined to comply with the trade request, but admitted that he caught it off guard by being eliminated in Winnipeg, even though he only managed one point and a minus-5 rating in nine games this season.
While it looks like a Bennett trade will eventually occur, the Flames are more concerned about their struggles, with five losses in the last seven games.
