|2021 Zurich Classic of New Orleans|
|Date||April 22-25, 2021|
The Zurich Classic in New Orleans will once again host the PGA Tour this week on the PGA calendar.
The Zurich Classic and its unique team competition that was first introduced in 2017 in an attempt to give some variation to the PGA schedule. The change has worked and, since its introduction in 2017, has provided golf enthusiasts with exciting endings in an event where some of the circuit's best players team up for four days.
The tournament will see 80 teams of golfers compete in the top two ball formats (Thursday through Saturday), and another format shootout (Friday-Sunday) in the first two days with the top 35 and weekend draws.
The Zurich Classic squad includes five of the world's top ten golfers according to the official world golf rankings and is titled by 2019 champions Jon Rahm and Ryan Palmer as they seek to retain the title they won two years ago.
TPC Louisana is a Pete Dye design that has hosted the Zurich Classic since 2006.
TPC Louisiana is a PAR 72 model that plays right at approximately 7,400 yards. It has a wide range of scoring holes with many short PAR 4s and four PAR 5s making it the perfect host for a team event like this.
The course features everything from tree-lined fairways with cypress and oak trees, miles of wetlands, many water hazards, including the 18th finish hole, and over 100 bunkers. Players will also see TifEagle Bermuda grass fairways and greens revamped this week for the first time after changes were made after the 2019 event.
