Reason for Travelers Championship PGA Tour Golf Tips, Odds, Predictions

*This article was updated on June 27, 2020*

After a couple of Tournaments leaving cancellations behind due to COVID-19. Now it's time to play at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut on Thursday June 25.

Rory McIlroy / Justin Thomas and Bryson DeChambeau are the favorites to win the tournament. The top 5 best players are ready to take on the new challenge at River Highland which will also feature the top 10 players in the FedEx Cup standings. Now let's take a look at the players to watch out for in this event

Rory McIlroy +1100 certainly puts his money in place by participating in every tournament since the PGA's return. He has yet to find the pace he was in before the layoff, with a T32 being the best he has accomplished in both tournaments since his return.

Justin Thomas +1100 had his best season in 2017, when he won 5 on the PGA Tour. He was on track to match or improve that number before the PGA closed, winning a few tournaments at the start of the 2020 season. That was enough to put him at the top of the FedEx Cup standings before that. Weekend. Thomas has finished in the top 10 of two tournaments since the PGA Tour restarted, so he must be considered a serious threat to be on top of the rankings on Sunday.

Bryson DeChambeau +1100 Last week, DeChambeau had a top 10 and had a chance to win 12 times our money. DeChambeau has finished no worse than eighth in each of his last five races and is currently first in distance on the road and third on average. DeChambeau has scored in the top 10 straight in the travel championship and averaged 68.06 in four games.

Webb Simpson +2000 who won last weekend at Hilton Head by winning the tournament, but can he take this form this weekend? Simpson certainly didn't show the part in his first tournament after the layoff, failing to cut Charles Schwab, but he made up for it by winning last week. If you count for both tournaments before the break, Simpson has now won 2 of his last 4 tournaments.

Patrick Cantlay +2500 is another golf player who will be making his debut since the restart, as we haven't seen him since the Genesis Open in February. The good news is that Cantlay was in great shape the last time we saw him, making four top-20s in his last five tries and that doesn't include a second runner-up in the BMW Championship.

Paul Casey +3300 since the WGC-Mexico Championship in February, this will be the first event for him, so there is a break to worry about including him on the undercard. However, Casey returns to a course he knows very well, having successfully cut the TPC River Highlands in five games, he has four places in the top 10 and averages 67.10.

Jordan Spieth +4000 performed poorly and only had a -4 last week. However, there have been more consistent flashes when Spieth found his game and did a good job of recovering from poor performance. After an unforgettable event in Mexico, Spieth had a top 10 at the Charles Schwab Challenge. When Spieth missed the cup in Phoenix, he followed it with a top 10 at Pebble Beach. Spieth won the Travelers' Championship in 2017 by beating Daniel Berger in the playoffs.

Ian Poulter +6600 has not played in the Travelers Championship since 2013 and his average of 68.75 points on three trips is nothing ordinary. However, Poulter has played on some of the best golf courses since the restart, scoring in the 1960s in six of his last eight rounds and had a -16 last week on RBC Heritage.
