Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Detroit Lions Key Players

#12 Tom Brady TAM
3,886 YDS | 32 TD | 11 INT

#9 Matthew Stafford DET
3,774 YDS | 23 TD | 9 INT

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers enter Motor City with a chance for a playoff spot.

The six-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback and the Bucs (9-5) are one win away from earning a playoff spot for the first time since 2007.

The Detroit Lions (5-9) out of competition will likely be very accommodating Saturday at Ford Field without a fan.

Detroit will be led by Robert Prince, its third head coach, as interim coach Darrell Bevell became the first NFL head coach to miss a game due to COVID-19 protocols.

The Lions will also be without defensive coordinator Cory Undlin and other assistant coaches due to contact tracing.

Antonio Brown is coming off his most productive game since making his debut with the Bucs last month after being suspended for eight games for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

He had five receptions for the best 93 yards of the season, including a 46-yard touchdown that capped last week's comeback victory over Atlanta.

Brown, 32, has 30 receptions for 310 yards and a touchdown in six games.

Detroit's offense and defense will be led by coaches who have never had that responsibility in the NFL.

Quarterbacks coach Sean Ryan will call up Bevell, who also serves as the team's offensive coordinator.

Evan Rothstein, who helps the team behind the scenes with the investigation and analysis, will take on the defense job for Undlin on game day.

Tampa Bay rallied to win after losing at least 10 points to win four times, tied with the New Orleans Saints for the most in the NFL this season.

The Bucs have been outscored 59-7 in the first quarter in their last six games. They overcame the deficit to beat three teams below .500 and lose to three teams with record wins.

Tampa Bay hasn't led the end of a first quarter since Week 5 in Chicago.

The Lions became double-digit leaders by becoming the first team in NFL history to lose four straight games after leading by more than 10 points.

Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford played on broken ribs in last week's loss to Tennessee and added to their long list of sensible passes in a remarkable touchdown to Marvin Jones.

Stafford was looking to the right when he shot to the left, connecting with Jones at the back of the end zone.

Arians has said that Stafford is one of his favorite players of all time, ranking him in the top four or five best quarterbacks in the NFL.

Tampa Bay tight end Rob Gronkowski will have at least one postgame request. Pro Bowl tight end T.J.

Hockenson, a No. 8 draft pick overall by Detroit last year, has said he hopes to get away from Ford Field in Gronkowski's No. 87 jersey.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Detroit Lions Prediction

The Lions don't have the defensive ability to contain these high-scoring offensive opponents. Tampa Bay comes into this one with momentum after their big comeback win at Atlanta last week. The Lions' pass defense is terrible. The Bucs defense should at least contain the Lions. They have the best running defense in the entire NFL, so don't expect too much on Swift / Peterson turf. Three of the Lions' past four losses have occurred by double digits in points that included a 46-25 road loss to the Titans last week.

WINNER: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ -9.5
