Kansas City Chiefs vs Tennessee Titans Week 10 Sunday Football Betting Trends / NFL Free Picks

It might be last call for the Tennessee Titans’ playoff hopes Sunday when they host the 6-2 Kansas City Chief. Cleveland (2-6) has lost four straight games and is still winless at home, while the Bills are a perfect 3-0 on the road.

Odds Analysis: It’s not often in the NFL that you see a 2-6 team laying points against a 6-2 opponent, but that’s the case here as oddsmakers opened Cleveland -3. Bettors have been quick to back Buffalo, moving the line down under a field goal. The UNDER has also seen early support, dropping a point to 40.5 as of Monday night.

Kansas City Chief -6

Mahomes is currently listed as questionable to open the week heading into week 10 action. If Mahomes is to play, that will change the conversation of this game completely. In short, if Mahomes plays and is healthy, take the Chiefs if you can still get them at minus-3.

If there’s a silver lining to Mahomes’ two-game absence, it’s that the Chiefs were able to get running back Damien Williams more involved in the offense. Williams rushed for a career-high 125 yards last week, including a 91-yard touchdown run, and Tyreek Hill had six catches for a season-high 140 yards and a touchdown. Kansas City’s defense was gashed on the ground early in the season, but the Chiefs held Minnesota’s powerful ground game to less than 100 yards last week.

The Chiefs were in a back and forth game with the Vikings at home last week but made the plays late to pull out a win. Kansas City was tied at seven after one quarter and at 10 at the half: they led 20-16 after three quarters. In the fourth quarter, trailing by three, the Chiefs drove 38 yards to settle for a season-long 54-yard field goal by Harrison Butker to tie the game with 2:30 to play. Kansas City’s defense came up with a stop and a dud punt gave them the ball at the Minnesota 45 with 1:47 to play.

Tennessee Titans +6

Tennessee’s offense will look to take advantage. Derrick Henry has been strong all year running for 644 yards and six touchdowns for an average 71.6 yards per game. But struggles at the quarterback position have caused issues for the Titans’ offense all year long. Tennessee ranks in the bottom third of the NFL in passing at 212.9 yards per game as Marcus Mariota was benched and Ryan Tannehill took over. Tannehill has gone 2-1 as a starter with wins over the Chargers and Tampa Bay before a 30-20 loss to Carolina last week.

The Titans started slowly against Carolina and it ended up costing them the contest. Tennessee played a scoreless opening quarter but was outscored 17-0 in the second quarter to trail by double-digits at the half. The Titans were unable to get closer than 10 the rest of the way as they failed to contain Christian McCaffrey from running through their defense. Tennessee owned a 431-370 edge in total offense and picked up 24 first downs to Carolina’s 22: they lost the time of possession by a 33:17 to 26:43 margin.

After leading the Titans to wins in his first two starts, Tannehill passed for 331 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions in a 30-20 loss at Carolina last week. Tennessee’s 431 total yards last week were a season-high, but three turnovers derailed their bid for a third straight win. The Titans’ defense has been solid but is dependent on takeaways - they have forced 14 turnovers and have at least one takeaway in six straight games.
