The Buffalo Bills enter the game with a record of (6-2). The Bills enjoyed a 24-9 win over the Washington Redskins in their last game. The Cleveland Browns are (2-6) on the season and are coming off a loss on to the road to the Denver Broncos, 24-19. The Bills got out to an early lead, thanks to a 6yd touchdown reception from Cole Beasley from Josh Allen.
Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen has thrown for 1,653 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Frank Gore has rushed for 437 yards and two touchdowns while John Brown has 603 yards and two touchdowns to lead all receivers. Tremaine Edmunds is the leading tackler for Buffalo with 62.
Josh Allen was drafted six spots behind Mayfield despite concerns that he was not pro-ready due to facing suspect competition at Wyoming, but last week he became the fourth quarterback in history with at least 20 passing touchdowns and 12 rushing scores in his first two seasons.
Running back Devin Singletary has endured an injury-plagued rookie campaign but he ran for a season-high 95 yards and a touchdown last week on 20 carries matching his number of rushing attempts from his previous four games combined. Buffalo's defense ranks third overall (296.3 yards per game) but was shredded by Philadelphia for 218 rushing yards in Week 8 and gave up more than 100 yards to Washington's Adrian Peterson last week.
Buffalo has found a way to recommit to the ground game and it has served them well this season. The Bills have gone over the 100-yard mark as a team seven times and averaged at least four yards per carry in seven of their games this season, he Bills have six run plays that have covered at least 20 yards this season: Gore and Singletary each have three on the year. |Cleveland Browns -3|
The Brown dropped another game and continue to under perform since the season started. Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was 27 of 42 for 273 yds and a touchdown. Nick Chubb ran for 65 yds on 20 carries. Jarvis Landry added his first receiving touchdown of the season.
Baker Mayfield leads Cleveland with 1,963 yards passing, seven touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The leading rusher for the Browns is Nick Chubb with 803 yards and six touchdowns. Odell Beckham leads all Browns receivers with 575 yards and one touchdown. Joe Schobert leads Cleveland in tackles with 77.
Cleveland has a fairly soft second-half schedule but needs more production from Mayfield, who has not thrown for more than one scoring pass in a game while tossing a league high-tying 12 interceptions. Odell Beckham Jr. became the third-fastest wideout to 6,000 yards last Sunday but he has not found the end zone since Week 2.
Running back Nick Chubb ranks fourth in the NFL with 803 yards rushing but could see his touches diminished with former Kansas City running back Kareem Hunt returning from an eight-game suspension. Myles Garrett ranks second in the league with 10.0 sacks for a defense that has limited teams to 216.3 yards passing, but the Browns have been gouged for 141.3 yards rushing per game.
Cleveland has had all kinds of struggles stopping the run game of the opposition this season. The Browns have given up at least 100 yards in five of their eight games this season: they allowed at least 90 in two others and their best game saw the opposition run for 79 yards: that was the Patriots in week eight.
