Reason for Missouri Tigers vs #6 Georgia Bulldogs NCAA Football Picks
|Missouri Tigers +16.5|
The Missouri Tigers visit Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia on Saturday for an SEC showdown with the No. 8 ranked Georgia Bulldogs. Missouri lost its second straight and fell to 5-3 overall following a 29-7 loss to Kentucky. Tigers quarterback Kelly Bryant strained his hamstring in the loss during the first quarter and remained in the game until halfway through the third. His status for Saturday is not known.
Not having Bryant - who has passed for 1,845 yards and 14 touchdowns while competing 62.2 percent of his passes in his first season since transferring from Clemson - would be a big loss. Sophomore Taylor Powell took over for Bryant against Kentucky and completed 4-of-10 passes for 34 yards, while sophomore running back Tyler Badie caught a 74-yard touchdown pass in a 29-7 defeat.
Sophomore linebacker Nick Bolton leads the SEC in tackles (8.8 per game) and has registered 29 solo tackles in his past three games, leading a defense that is 11th in the nation in yards allowed per game (281.4).
Missouri’s 17th-ranked defense (allowing 136.9 ground yards per game) is still relevant, though of late the Tigers have struggled to score. If the Tigers are to end Georgia’s damaged playoff hopes, a massive defensive performance, and Patrick Bryant’s resurgence will be required.
Tigers are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game. Tigers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games.
