Reason for UCONN Huskies vs #20 Cincinnati Bearcats
|UCONN Huskies +35|
UConn hasn’t done much on either side of the ball, ranking 115th out of 130 FBS schools on offense scoring 20.3 points per game, and it is worse on defense ranking 128th allowing 39.8 points per game. But it was just three weeks ago that Houston was a 22-point favorite and UConn was able to keep the game to a 24-17 decision. So no matter how much better Cincinnati is on paper, and Cincinnati is a much better team on paper, a 34.5 point spread is certainly within reach.
Quarterback Desmond Ridder, who threw for 161 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 146 yards in last week's comeback win, sparked a 49-7 rout of Connecticut a year ago by accounting for three scores (2 passing, 1 rushing) and passing for 270 yards. Michael Warren II, a 1,300-yard rusher last year, rumbled for a season-high 141 yards and three touchdowns against East Carolina and also went over 100 yards and scored twice against the Huskies in 2018. Cincinnati had held four opponents to 14 points or fewer before allowing 535 yards passing last weekend.
Jack Zergiotis leads the Huskies with 1,079 passing yards, five touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He threw for 205 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against Navy and will need a better performance to lead his team to the win on Saturday.
2-5 ATS in their last 7 conference games.3-8-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a double-digit loss at home.

|#20 Cincinnati Bearcats -35|
The Bearcats sit atop the American Athletic Conference East Division and are in a prime position to reach the AAC title game with a one-game lead and a tiebreaker over second-place Central Florida. With a road game at Memphis still remaining and a much easier schedule left for Central Florida, the Bearcats have no room for error moving forward.
The Huskies surrendered 408 yards on the ground to Navy, the No. 1 rushing team in the nation, and will be further tested after Cincinnati ran for 326 yards last week. "We want to play the best in order to get better," said freshman quarterback Jack Zergiotis, who has four TDs and four picks in his last three games. UConn's best hope is to lean on Kevin Mensah, who eclipsed 100 yards for the fourth time this season with 107 yards against Navy after piling up 164 yards and five scores the previous week versus UMass.
Michael Warren II led the team with 141 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries in their win over East Carolina. Quarterback Desmond Ridder added 121 yards on 12 carries. Expect to see a heavy dose of the two players on Saturday.
4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game.
