Reason for Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs #9 North Carolina Tar Heels NCAAB Picks
|Notre Dame Fighting Irish +10.5|
Notre Dame is coming into the game here with a decent roster that has no freshman at all. The Fighting Irish have managed to get some of the older players matured now and while the Sophomores still make up the bulk of the players, the Fighting Irish are going to have a chance to bring home a good game here.
Mooney averaged a double-double (14.1 points, 11.2 rebounds) last season and senior guard T.J. Gibbs (13.4) was the only other returning player to score at least 10 per contest. Sophomore Prentiss Hubb (8.1 points, 4.0 assists in 2018-19) runs the show for the Irish while more will be expected from sophomore forward Nate Laszewski (6.9 points, 3.9 rebounds), sophomore guard Dane Goodwin (6.4 points) and senior forward Juwan Durham (5.7 points, 2.3 blocks)
John Mooney and T.J. Gibbs averaged 14.1 and 13.4 points respectively last season, and Prentiss Hubb led the Irish in their last exhibition game -- a 61-51 win over Bellarmine -- with 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting from 3-point range.

|#9 North Carolina Tar Heels -10.5|
The defending ACC regular-season co-champion Tar Heels will have a significantly different look this year than last, however, as they lost five players to the NBA draft and another who transferred out to another school.
North Carolina is heading into the game here with a team that picked up 29 wins. However, a problem the Tar Heels may have is the team did lose quite a bit of the talent that was on the roster last year and that could really cause them some problems in getting the wins here.
Leading the Tar Heels offensively is freshman point guard Cole Anthony who will look to validate the hype that he received during his high school career. Anthony finished with 11 points and seven assists in an exhibition against Winston-Salem State, but had four turnovers and was 0-for-3 from 3-point range.
