Reason for DePaul Blue Demons vs Iowa Hawkeyes

DePaul Blue Demons +9

The Blue Demons' schedule had been mostly completed at the time the suspension was handed down, and originally it would have been this game completing Leitao's suspension, but the school added a game against Division III school the University of Chicago that also created a stretch of three games in four days.

DePaul is now 3-0 on the young season, but face a big challenge in their game against Iowa.  Moore has led the Blue Demons on the season in points per game with 19.3 while shooting 60.6% from the field.

Moore has also led DePaul in rebounds per game with 5.  Reed has led the Blue Demons in rebounds per game as he has been the Blue Demons best player in the paint with 9.7 rebounds per game.

Iowa Hawkeyes -9

Iowa had little trouble in its season-opening victory, blowing by SIU-Edwardsville 87-60 on Friday night.

Luka Garza had 20 points and 12 rebounds and Joe Wieskamp scored 16 points as the Hawkeyes opened a 12-point halftime lead and never looked back.

The Iowa Hawkeyes welcome the DePaul Blue Demons to campus after winning their first game against Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville by the score of 87-60.  Luka Garza led Iowa in points with 20 while shooting 7 of 13 from the field and 6 of 10 from the free throw line.

Garza also led Iowa in rebounds with 12 including 3 coming offensively.  Jordan Bohannon led the Hawkeyes in assists as he recorded 4 on the night to go along with his 2 rebounds and 9 points.

The Pick:

The Blue Demons were active on the transfer market this offseason, and they were able to win over Kansas guard Charlie Moore who has been amazing this season with 19.3 PPG and 5 APG. The Iowa Hawkeyes are always a strong team in the Big Ten, and while they are an experienced bunch, they just don’t have the scoring abilities to blow a team away. Final Score Prediction, Iowa Hawkeyes win but fail to cover ATS 76-70.
