Reason for Miami Heat vs Portland Trail Blazers NBA Basketball Picks

Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard has been a crazy terrorist, scoring 40 or more points in six of his last nine games.

But now the five-time goalkeeper is upset when the Trail Blazers enter Sunday's home game against the Miami Heat.

Lillard scored 42 points in the 117-114 loss on Friday's road to Utah Jazz, but it was two points that didn't count what caused his anger.

Lillard drove for a potentially tied tray that was pushed back by central Utah Rudy Gobert with 11.2 seconds left. The problem was that the ball bounced on the glass before Gobert hit it, but the goalkeeper was not called.

The team leader, Josh Tiven, later told a group reporter that he missed the call and was a goalkeeper. Lillard saw the group's report on Twitter and used some obscenities to describe his feelings.

Escort CJ McCollum also felt pain and asked the NBA to discipline the crew.

The Trail Blazers should now focus on the Heat, which lost the first two games in a six-game streak.

Stardom Jimmy Butler (shoulder) will miss his second consecutive game. The first without him did not go well since the Heat was dominated by a 105-97 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Friday.

Adebayo stood out with 26 points and seven rebounds, but Miami was careless with the ball and committed 20 turnovers.

Help could be on the way since the recently acquired swingman Andre Iguodala was scheduled to train with the team on Saturday.

Iguodala, 36, has not played this season after refusing to join the Memphis Grizzlies. Miami traded for Iguodala before Thursday's trading deadline.

The Heat plans to study how Iguodala practices performance rates before deciding whether or not to agree on Sunday.

Miami is expected to be without substitute goalkeeper Tyler Herro (ankle) for the third consecutive game.

Portland probably won't have substitute goalkeeper Anfernee Simons, who suffered a concussion during the game in Utah. The tall man Hassan Whiteside (leg) also sat down.

The loss was only a third of the Trail Blazers in Lillard's brilliant nine-game race. The best performance was against the Golden State Warriors on January 20, when he set franchise records of 61 points and 11 3 points.

Lillard averaged 42.4 points during the push. He had at least six three-point shots seven times in the race, including eight in the loss to the Jazz.

Lillard has seven 40-point outings this season, matching Clyde Drexler's Hall of Fame franchise for the 1988-1989 season.

The Heat have won the last three games, including a 122-111 home win on January 5. Miami game creator Goran Dragic posted a season high of 29 points and 13 assists and tied his best result of his career by seven pointers at three points. Lillard had 34 points and 12 assists for Portland.
