Reason for Brooklyn Nets vs Utah Jazz NBA Picks

Brooklyn Nets +7

The Brooklyn Nets look to bounce back from a loss when they visit the Utah Jazz on Tuesday. The Nets fell to the Phoenix Sun on Sunday 138-112. With the loss the Nets dropped to 4-5 on the season.

Spencer Dinwiddle led Brooklyn with 18 points, while Kyrie Irving scored 15 after hitting just 7 of his 16 shots. The Nets trailed 68-50 at the half and never threatened after the break. Brooklyn hasn’t won or lost more than two in a row this season but does hold wins over Houston and Portland this season, while the five losses have been against the likes of Minnesota, Phoenix, and Indiana.

One thing that has not been a problem for the Nets has been scoring, with the team scoring a minimum of 108 points in every game so far, accounting for the No. 3 offense in the NBA averaging 119.8 points per game. However, Brooklyn is next-to-last in the NBA on defense, allowing 121.7 points per game, allowing at least 109 points in every game this season.

Some not so good news for the Nets came on Monday after learning guard Caris LeVert is slated to miss Tuesday’s game against the Jazz with a thumb injury. It’s a loss of another viable offensive weapon when facing the best defense in basketball.

Utah Jazz -7

Utah plays the second half of a back-to-back on Tuesday when hosting the Brooklyn Nets as the Jazz face the Golden State Warriors on Monday. The Jazz defeated the Milwaukee Bucks Friday 103-100. Bojan Bogdanovic hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Jazz the win. Bogdanovic led the Jazz with 33. The victory improved the Jazz to 6-3.

The Jazz will enter the game hell-bent on shutting you down. They are the top-ranked defensive team due to their depth and ability to guard effectively over the course of an entire game. There are some teams that come at you in waves with offense. Well, the Jazz comes at you in waves with defenders.

The trio of center Rudy Gobert (a season-best 25 points on 11-of-12 shooting), Mitchell (23) and Conley (22) combined for 70 points as Utah controlled play against the Warriors. Kyrie Irving ranks third in the NBA scoring 30.0 points per game to go along with 7.2 assists and 5.6 rebounds, while Caris LaVert is one of four other Nets averaging in double figures.

LaVert scores 16.8 points per game while Spencer Dinwiddie added 16.7 points. Joe Harris and Taurean Prince add 13.7 and 12.9 points per game respectively, while DeAndre Jordan pulls in 9.6 rebounds per game.
