The Rangers (40-73) are 14-43 and are last in the Los Angeles West Division standings. Last night, All-Star OF Adolis Garcia crushed his 25th home run of the season in a 5-4 road win over Seattle in ten innings.

25-year-old right-hander Spencer Howard (0-3 6.16 ERA) will make his second start with the Rangers. In his first start, Howard allowed three runs and recorded just seven strikeouts in a 5-0 home loss to Los Angeles.

The Seattle Mariners have won 33 of their first 57 home games and are 6.5 games ahead of Oakland for last place in the AL Wild Card. On Tuesday, Seattle completed the goals at the end of the ninth inning with no outs and failed to score the winning point. Kyle Seager and Mitch Haniger went far in a losing effort for the Mariners (59-55).

31-year-old southpaw Tyler Anderson (5-8 4.35 ERA) will make his third start as a member of the Mariners. Anderson, who was acquired in a trade from Pittsburgh, allowed five runs in more than ten innings and has not won with his new club.
