Preview, Prediction and Picks

The Texas Rangers travel down the road to Angel Stadium to open a series against the Los Angeles Angels. The Rangers made a sweep in their latest streak with the Astros, but are still five games under 0.500 and seven games in the AL West. The Angels have also struggled this season with a score of just 3-7 in their last ten games, but they won their last game against the Athletics 6-5 to move up to 20-27; 7.5 games behind and at the bottom of AL West.

Texas reaches .235 as the MLB's 16th ranked team in scoring average and scores 4.12 points per game for MLB's 19th in attack. Right fielder Adolis Garcia is off to an incredible start to his first full season at the MLB level hitting .291 and is tied for second in the MLB in home runs with 14 and tied for third in RBIs with 38.

Left-hander Heyon-Jong Yang will receive the ball in his sixth major league appearance after beginning his career at KBO, earning an MVP in 2017. Yang has pitched well at the Major League level in his limited work as a 21-inning strikeout action. 15 and allowing 8 runs on 16 hits. His last outing was a strong 5 ? inning that allowed two runs and three hits, but he walked four.

Los Angeles has a solid roster and ranks in the MLB's top 15 in offensive scoring averaging 4.45 points per game, ranking 14th in the MLB. As a team, they hit an impressive .247 that ranks eighth in the MLB in large part thanks to their two stars Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani.

Ohtani is enjoying a season that no one in baseball in the past 100 years can match, currently tied for second in the MLB with 14 home runs and led by 35 points while posting a 2.37 ERA on the mound. Mike Trout continued to be one of the best young players in baseball with an impressive .333 with 8 home runs and 18 RBIs.

Left-hander Andrew Heaney will get the ball in his ninth start of the year and just had one of the worst starts to his year. Heaney is 1-3 with a 5.31 ERA, but he's coming off a start in which he allowed 6 hits and 5 runs in just 3 innings of work, striking out one and walking two. Heaney has a career 4.50 ERA and will likely continue to settle for his most consistent numbers of the past 4 years.
