New York Yankees Sox vs Cleveland Indians Prediction, Betting Tips and Preview of the match for the MLB Baseball Game on Wednesday September 30th, 2020.

Masahiro Tanaka New York Yankees
ERA 3.56 (3-3)

Masahiro Tanaka allowed five runs (three earned) on eight hits and three goals in four innings in the Yankees' 14-1 loss to the Blue Jays on Wednesday. He got three.

This is only the second time in 10 starts that Tanaka has given up more than three points.

The 31-year-old right-hander goes 3-3 with a 3.56 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP in 48 innings, and is ready to start Game 2 of the playoffs for the Yankees.

Carlos Carrasco Cleveland Indians
ERA 2.91 (3-4)

Cleveland right-hander Carlos Carrasco got off to a quality start in a 4-3 win over the Pirates on Friday. Carrasco allowed two runs in six innings, struck out eight and walked three.

Carrasco ends the 2020 regular season with a 3-4 record, 2.91 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 82 strikeouts in 68 innings of work.

Now he'll be waiting for his first-round opponent in the playoffs. He is likely to take the ball in the second game of this series.

The Yankees fell asleep at the wheel toward the end of the season and even dropped the seed at home to the ALWC.

None of that seemed to matter, though, as they separated everyone from AL CY candidate Young Shane Bieber to Oliver Perez's relief for the Indians on Tuesday.

It was a kind of performance that should strike fear throughout Los Angeles. When the Yankees roll, it's virtually impossible to stop.

Masahiro Tanaka is slated to be the starting pitcher for Game 2. He has been 2-2 the entire regular season with a 3.56 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. His regular season didn't end on a high note after being torched by the Toronto Blue Jays in a game in which he allowed eight hits and five runs in four innings.

The Indians have struggled offensively all season, and as long as Tanaka can avoid a meltdown, the Yankees will have a great opportunity in this game.

Cleveland is ranked 26th in the league in isolated power (.144) and 24th in BABIP (.277).

Cleveland Indians

They had won nine of their last 11 games, including a four-game streak against the Chicago White Sox in the playoffs.

They had their CY Young candidate, Shane Bieber, starting against an absurd-looking Yankees batting lineup.

The Yankees had a losing road record and the game took place at Progressive Field in Cleveland. Apparently it was in the Indians' purse.

This means that starter Carlos Carrasco will have to succeed where Bieber failed. The 33-year-old right-hander pitches a 2.91 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP with 82 strikeouts for the season.

Whether that will be enough to tame the Yankees remains to be seen. He hasn't produced more than three runs in his last six starts, but he will also face an attack with the fifth-most homers (1.57) and OPS (0.789) this season. It could force him to pitch his best game of the year to claim a win here.
