Milwaukee Brewers vs Washington Nationals NL Wild Card Baseball Betting Tips

The Milwaukee Brewers went on a tear in September despite missing their best player and made a run at a National League Central crown before settling for a wild card spot.

The National League Wild Card game between the Milwaukee Brewers and Washington Nationals will take place on Tuesday night from the nation’s capital. Milwaukee won 16 of their last 21 games to clinch a playoff spot, but fell two games short of catching St. Louis for the NL Central Division title.

Milwaukee Brewers +160

Brandon Woodruff
Milwaukee Brewers Starting Pitcher

113121.23.62 1431.14
Note: Brandon Woodruff is the pitcher the Brewers are planning on handing the ball over to. Woodruff on the regular season posted a great 11-3 record with a 3.62 ERA.

The Milwaukee Brewers had a shot at the National League Central division when the weekend started, but after getting swept in a three-game series in Colorado, they have been relegated to the wildcard round.

The Brewers come into this series with no momentum at all. Even more disturbing for the Brewers is that they scored just five total runs in their last two games at Coors.

Now they have to face Max Scherzer in this playoff game. It will not be easy, especially if your offense just struggled at Coors Field.

For the Brewers, the team really has quite a good chance of winning this game as the underdog as they have managed to go 44-23 this year as the underdog.

Max Scherzer
Washington Nationals Starting Pitcher

117172.12.92 2431.03
Note: Max Scherzer is the starter the Nationals have announced in this game. Scherzer in the regular season posted a 11-7 record with a 2.92 ERA.

Washington just swept a three-game home series against the Indians to end the year and the offense torched a solid Cleveland staff for 26 runs in the three games. In the finale, the Nats won by a score of 8-2 and leading their attack in the game was Gerardo Parra, who had two hits and three RBIs, while Brian Dozier has two hits and two RBIs and Kurt Suzuki (17) had their lone homer in the contest.

Grabbing the win was Joe Ross, who allowed just one ER on four hits and two walks while striking out eight in 6.0 innings of work. He is now 4-4 with a 5.48 ERA on the year.

The biggest issue for the Nats this year has been their bullpen, but the pen has played well of late with a 3.86 ERA over its last 10 games.

The Nationals for their part have only managed to get a record that has them sitting at 55-56 as the favorite and that definitely does not bode well for the Nationals.

The Picks: Milwaukee Brewers +160, Under 7.5
