Game 4 of the American League Division Series the best starter in baseball in Houston's Justin Verlander when the Astros visit the Rays on Tuesday.

Justin Verlander
Houston Astros Starting Pitcher

Note: Verlander's Game 1 win left him at 8-0 with a 2.14 ERA in 12 games (11 starts) in the division series round, and 14-7 with a 3.05 mark in his postseason career.

Houston had their chances to put the Rays away and sweep their way into the AL Championship Series but instead found themselves on the wrong end of a blowout loss.

The Astros look to regroup in this contest and close things out on the road. Houston got two hits each from Jose Altuve (run, RBI), Yordan Alvarez (run) and Yuli Guerriel (two RBI) in the contest.

Zack Greinke (0-1), who was 8-1 down the stretch with Houston, was hit hard and took the loss on the mound.

The Houston Astros did not play their brand of baseball in game 3 as they let the Tampa Bay Rays put up 10 runs on them, but I wouldn’t expect similar trends to follow here due to the pitching mismatch.

Diego Castillo
Houston Astros Starting Pitcher

Note: Castillo served as the opener six times during the regular season and posted a 6.15 ERA in that role, compared to 3.08 in his 59 relief appearances.

Tampa Bay was down 2-0 in the series and staring at elimination but managed to get their bats going to pick up the win and stay alive.

The Rays now have to pull that off again to move the series back to Houston or else they’re heading to the golf course.

Tampa Bay got homers from Kevin Kiermaier (his first of the postseason), Ji-Man Choi (his first), Willy Adames (his first) and Brandon Lowe (his first) in the contest as they finally got their bats going early in the game.

The Tampa Bay Rays are set to start Diego Castillo (0-0, 0.00 ERA) who had success in his latest appearance as he went 1.2 scoreless innings while giving up 1 hit against the Houston Astros.

The Picks: Houston Astros -240, Under 7.5
